# Data entry & simulations in reading view

Learn how you can perform manual data entry and instant what-if simulations right from the reading mode in Microsoft Power BI. Inforiver allows you to:&#x20;

(a) Enter data in formats such as number, text, date, single/multi-select and more

(b) Perform budgeting and allocations

(c) Perform top-down and bottom-up simulations

(d) Run variance analysis instantly in a few clicks, and visualize them using in-built templates&#x20;

(e) Add notes, leverage conditional formatting, Top N and export the results as PDF or Excel

Note that the changes won't be saved and can be shared with other users only by exporting the file.
